Grief Support Idea #2. Making something from the clothing of a loved one

“Sometimes we need something to hold onto.”

It is not uncommon for some individuals to keep specific items of clothing of someone they love after the loved one has died.

This idea of making something from the clothing of a loved one uses items and remakes them into something different.

Teddy Bear

The picture displays a flannelette night gown remade into a “Teddy Bear”. I have seen teddy bears and bunnies made from clothing of a deceased. One, grandmother had her daughter’s house coats made into teddy bears for her young grandchildren.

Loss touches us all at some time in life. For some any way we can hold onto and remember the love of a loved one is what we need to do to cope. There is no right or wrong.

“I have found as my grief diminishes, having my “Teddy Bear” is a gentle way of remembering and knowing love never dies.”

All my best,
